Wellness Professional Volunteer

We are ALWAYS looking for Wellness Professionals! Volunteer Wellness Professionals are certified in their respective fields and offer most of our wellness programs. This includes:

  • Reiki & Therapeutic Touch

  • Yoga

  • Tai Chi

  • Meditation

  • Journaling

  • Educational workshops

  • Nutritional Cooking

  • And much more…

To volunteer as a wellness professional and directly help people living with cancer by offering a program/service:

General Volunteer

General volunteers make a difference by volunteering  at events, in the office, or other general opportunities. This includes:

  • Wellness guides/navigators

  • Reception

  • Office support

  • Event committee members

  • Event Volunteer

General Volunteer Positions Currently Available

Wellness Guide

Mondays 9:00 – 11:30, Wednesdays 9:00 – 11:30 & 1:00 – 3:30, Fridays 9:00 – 11:30

Job summary:

To meet with participants to register at the center. Guiding them through the registration process, giving a tour of our building and answering questions they have about our programs. Registration includes: obtaining medical information and contact information.

Summary of essential job functions

  • To assist the participants in exploring an array of wellness programs
  •  Entering data directly into the computer
  • Follow up with your assigned participants through their time at the Centre

Preferred candidate would:

  • Be bilingual
  • Have great empathy and compassion
  • Be extremely comfortable on computers

Time commitment:

  • Initial training- approximately 2 hour session
  • Guide meetings 3-4 times a year (or as needed)
  • 2-3 hours a week, based on your availability

Wellness Navigator

Thursday from 1:00 – 3:30 PM

 

Job summary:

To administer a wellness assessment to help participant to realize their wellness needs. To suggest classes/sessions based on the results.

Summary of essential job functions

  • To assist the participants in exploring an array of wellness programs
  • Entering data directly into the computer

Preferred candidate would:

  • Be bilingual
  • Have great empathy and compassion
  • Be extremely comfortable on computers

Time commitment:

  • Initial training- approximately 2 hour session
