Student Position #1: Program Development
Duration of contract: 240 hours commencing in June
Reports to: Executive Director

Job summary:
To assist in the deployment of a new initiative and expansion of our Reaching Out programs (Zoom and Living Well With Cancer Network).

Duties:

  • Collaborating to create a strategic plan for deployment of program

  • Research

  • Assist in Zoom classes and taping of programming classes for those who are not able to attend the live stream

  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Assist programming team with other projects as required

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in Cegep or University or recent graduate

  • Bilingual

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Strong computer skills

  • ** Videotaping and editing experience and software required

NOTE:  Due to Covid-19, and in order to ensure the safety of all staff and volunteers, the exact location of the job might include working from home, which will require a respectable work space that is confidential and a fast internet connection. If required to work at the Centre, there will be very strict safety protocols that will be enforced for your protection.

The distribution of the number of hours worked per week and the total number of weeks of work, are under review to better represent the needs of our organization during Covid-19.

Student Position #2: Community Development
Duration of contract: 240 hours commencing in June
Reports to: Director of Development & Marketing-Communications Coordinator

Duties:

  • Research, develop and distribute a survey to help the WICWC better understand the supporters in its database so as to better target future communications;

  • Compile survey results & statistics. Create graphics as required to illustrate results;

  • Follow-up and data entry;

  • Create a bank of social media posts with high-quality visuals, captions and branding

  • Create a bank of short videos for dissemination on social media, to be used in presentations etc. (participant & partner testimonials, teasers, educational videos, etc.);

  • Assist in creating and populating the annual report;

  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs;

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;

  • Assist Director of Development and Marcom Coordinator with other projects as required.

Student Position #3: Programming Assistant
Duration of contract: 240 hours commencing in June
Reports to: Programming Coordinator

Duties:

  • Welcome visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.

  • Answering the phone and assigning the responsibility for follow-up.

  • Maintain safe and clean reception area and first floor rooms, by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Assist in the Zoom classes as a host (initiating the classes, ensuring all behavior is appropriate, safeguarding all participants’ wellness, etc.)

  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Research, data entry and follow up

  • Programming related research

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in Cegep or University or recent graduate

  • Bilingual

  • Strong computer skills
