The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is part of the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre (WICWC) team (Fundraising and Programming), reporting to the Executive Director. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator oversees all Marketing and Communications for the WICWC.

The position includes but is not limited to:

  1. Strategic planning

  2. Building and maintaining the MarCom advisory committee

  3. Writing Press Releases

  4. Developing and producing the Annual Report (content, layout, etc.)

  5. Developing Newsletters (content, graphics, layout, etc.)

  6. Assuring regular press and radio coverage

  7. Maintaining visibility of WICWC at hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, etc.

  8. Organize guest speaking opportunities at community events

  9. Maintaining and updating of Website and Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram LinkedIn, TikTok)

  10. Maintaining/updating marketing materials

  11. Researching and implementing Cause-related marketing

  12. Providing regular progress reports

  13. Working closely with Director of Development on all fundraising annual campaigns

  14. Assisting in fundraising events and 3rd Parties with material preparation (advertising, marketing, etc.)

  15. Attendance at weekly Programming Meetings and development of communication to participants


  • Minimum of three years experience doing similar work

  • Bilingualism (essential)

  • Team player

  • Detail-oriented and very organized

  • Self-motivated, creative, innovative

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers

  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills (both French and English)

  • Ability to work under pressure and willing to work with tight deadlines

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • High expectations for quality

  • Proficiency in the use of the latest versions of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Publisher) & related web research

  • Excellent knowledge of social media

  • Knowledge and experience in Direct Mail platforms (Constant Contact) an asset

  • Proficiency with WordPress

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Ad Words an asset
